Correct technique: Outside peg weighted firmly. Inside knee pointing toward the turn. Body slightly forward. Eyes looking through the exit of the corner, not at the apex.

Drill: Set up a flat circular course and ride 20 or more laps weighting the outside peg consistently. Focus on smooth throttle through the apex with no abrupt inputs.

The most common adult error is leaning the body instead of the bike. This reduces traction and increases the chance of a low-side slide. Isolate and correct this habit on flat ground. Cornering weight transfer is the direct prerequisite for berms and banked turns. Attempting a berm without mastered weight transfer is the most common cause of intermediate-level crashes.

Technique 7: Hill Climbing and Descent Fundamentals
